Last weekend I attended the Discovery Day held by the Contemporary Glass Society at and in conjunction with The National Glass Centre in Sunderland.

It was such a great day, listening to talks from some very talented glass artists - Zac Weinberg, Helen Pailing, Jo Mitchell and Liz Waugh McManus.

We were then treated to some wonderful demonstrations around the National Glass Centre, including glass blowing by Zac and Jo showing us how to use the waterjet cutter.

The National Glass Centre is open to all and well worth a visit if you are in the area.  Do pop by and take a look, there is plenty to see along with some glass blowing demos for you to watch too... and all for free!  (although donations are very much appreciated).
